Welcome to the Night Owl Book Society’s very first anniversary overnight retreat! Bring a tent (or a friend with a tent), your favorite spooky story, and your coziest camp vibe. Below is everything you will need to know — schedule, packing list, food, pricing, RSVP instructions, and a few housekeeping notes to keep the night smooth and safe.

• Date: Saturday, October 25 → Sunday, October 26, 2025
• Location: Lake Mills Park — 1301 Tropical Ave, Chuluota, FL
• Start: 5:30 PM (tent setup & crafts)
• Sunset (approx.): 6:45 PM (best to be set-up by then)
• Dinner: 7:00 PM
• Breakfast: by 10:00 AM (Sunday)
• Cleanup finished / site clear: 12:00 PM (noon) Sunday
• Co-ed event — partners welcome.
• You may join just for the evening if you don’t want to overnight.

• Access (organizers/early drop-off): 5:00 PM
• Arrival 5:30 PM: Tent setup & Crafts begin— you may drive up to the campsite to unload, but you must move your car to the main parking lot afterward (see Parking).
• 7:00 PM: Dinner served (hot dogs, baked potatoes, veggie tray)
• After dinner: Campfire, spooky stories (2–5 minute stories — bring one to share!), s’mores, and late-night hanging out
• By 10:00 AM (Sunday): Breakfast served (cobbler, pastries, fruit)
• 11:00 AM: Pack up & tidy area
• 12:00 PM: Site clear

Lake Mills Park — 1301 Tropical Ave, Chuluota, FL

• Parking is available at the main lot (a short walk from the campsite).
• You may drive up briefly to unload gear at the campsite, but cars must be moved to the main lot after unloading. Be prepared for a short walk between car and camp.
• If you need help with gear, post in the Discord chat and someone can help you.

• Bathrooms & shower facilities are available.
• No electrical outlets or potable water at the campsite, so bring charged devices and a reusable water bottle.
• The site has a designated firepit — we’ll use that for the campfire and s’mores. Please follow fire safety guidance and any directions from organizers.

Dinner (7:00 PM)

• Hot dogs (including vegan hot dog option)
• Condiments: ketchup, mustard (we’ll have basic condiments; bring any special sauces you want)
• Veggie tray
• Baked potatoes (with condiments)

Dessert

• S’mores — bring skewers if you have them!

Breakfast (by 10:00 AM)

• Cobbler
• Assorted pastries
• Fruit platter

Drinks:

• Assorted sodas
• Bottled water

Notes:

• You are welcome to provide your own meals. This is recommended if you have dietary restrictions. We have cheaper pricing tiers for those who do so. Please note that there is no electricity or potable water at the site itself.
• If you’d like to help with food prep or bring an extra dish/snack/drinks, let us know in the sign-up form or on Discord.

• Not camping (no food): FREE
• Not camping with dinner + s’mores: $12
• Overnight camping (no food): $12
• Overnight camping with dinner, s’mores, & breakfast: $20

Payments due by October 18. If you RSVP after October 18, please pay when you RSVP.

Sleeping & shelter

• Flashlight or headlamp (fresh batteries or charged)
• Portable phone charger / power bank
• Camping or folding chair or blanket to sit on

Food & camp items

• Favorite snacks (we’ll have the main meal and s’mores)
• Skewers for hot dogs & s’mores if you have any already (metal or long wooden skewers)
• Personal mug/utensils if you prefer

Other

• Bug spray
• Kindle or book with a light (if you want to read)
• Small first-aid kit (optional)

• Spooky story circle: Bring a 2–5 minute spooky tale to share (found or original).
• Campfire & s’mores: Classic campfire goodness
• Crafts: Simple, cozy crafts (supplies provided).
• Tent-share chat: There’s a Discord channel set up for folks looking to tent-share or offer tent space.

• Quiet/respectful hours: While the schedule is officially “stay up as late as we desire,” please be mindful of others — keep noise reasonable late at night. Organizers may ask for quieter voices after 11:00 PM if needed.
• Fire safety: Use the designated firepit only. Do not leave the fire unattended. Follow any posted park rules.
• Leave no trace: Pack out your trash or place it in the provided receptacles. Help keep the site clean — we’ll do a group sweep before checkout.
• Pets: Please leave all pets at home!
• Emergencies: If there’s an emergency at the park, call 911. Organizers will have a first-aid kit and contact info for nearby clinics.

• Can I come just for the evening? Yes — choose the “Not camping” option on the RSVP form.
• Are partners welcome? Yes — partners are welcome. Please RSVP for each person.
• Where do I pay? PayPal link is above at the bottom of this page. Message Sarina if you need alternate payment.
• What if I need to cancel? Message Sarina; refunds may not be available
